Work Crazy - But I've Been Working Out - Also Might Get Nose Pierced

Work is driving me nuts! I'm completely swamped and my backlog is crazy! The good news is that I started working out on the elliptical machine at home every morning this week. I felt like shit on Sunday because I hadn't been eating right and exercising. Eating right has been coming more easily though than working out. It's such a shame considering we own a very nice Precor elliptical machine that I wasn't using it as often as I used to. Well, I've been making sure I'm not pressing the snooze button in the morning before work and I've now done that for three days, going to drink a cup of green tea first, getting my body awake and then getting in a half hour on the elliptical machine. I also started doing some ab exercises each day as I know it keeps my lower back happy. I've also been working on meditating a little in the morning, doing some imagery exercises from Julia Indichova's latest book.

Tom has one more paper to write that is due this Friday for school and then he graduates! The next two weekends after this one will be occupied with a graduation dinner with his class and then the official ceremony. I can't wait for this to be over!

BTW, any of my readers have their nose pierced? I've been planning to get this done lately. I don't know if it's just my pre-midlife crisis happening or what. I think it would look really cool. I'm just looking for one of these tiny little diamond studs to be there. I also found out that getting that done, it doesn't really have a back to it like an earring. It's just a hook to put it in place. I have a collegue in the office that has one and I was asking her about it. I almost went to have it done this past Sunday, but I just felt so icky and down on myself. But exercising again and doing the imagery has helped with my attitude and I think my badass self might be getting this in my schedule soon.

I wish I had a googly, bug-eyed smiley to insert here! Your pristine, goody-goody image has been shattered! ;D If you decide to get a Mustang (must be a GT) and do a Thelma & Louise, I'm there! Except for the driving off the cliff part. But must include the Brad Pitt part!

Good for you for working out! You are an inspiration.

Bouncing Back From Depression

I've been pretty depressed lately. Monday I hit my all time low, which coincidentally was also my dad's birthday. Needless to say I'm sure I'm on his not favorite child list as I forgot to call him I was so depressed. This whole two mortgage thing with no contract in site is really frustrating. Especially when lots of other houses on our block are selling. Our house is really very lovely, just no pool. It has a really flat backyard perfect for putting a pool in though. Anyway, on Monday, Mom called to make sure I didn't forget to call Dad and tell me she read my blog over the weekend and sent me an email about it. Sorry, Mom, I still have yet to check my emails to see what you had to say. Mom told me I needed to bury a statue of St. Joseph in the yard to get it to sell quicker. Wish I knew that sooner. I was going to wait for her to mail me hers, but yesterday I got really mad at myself and wanted to do something to improve my situation, so I found the nea

Bad Dreams Go Away Magic Spell

Wow! Two posts in one day!!! I just had to blog about this. Indigo Girl had posted about her daughter having bad dreams and looking for advice. I had to post what we do in our house to keep away bad dreams. I have to admit it was one of my most brilliant mommy moments as I pulled this one out of my a$$ when I came up with it. When Phoebe was about 3 or 4 years old, she started complaining about nightmares. I knew it was half true and half stalling for bedtime. She has always been very into witches, wizards and spells (heck she was named after the character on Charmed and my due date was Halloween), so I came up with a magic spell on the spot to keep away bad dreams. I figured all it had to do was rhyme. I will share it with you all and feel free to try it if you need it: Bad dreams, bad dreams go away In Phoebe's dreams she must play She should dream of ice cream and cake Until the morning when she wakes She loves it! She still asks for it sometimes if she's had a ni

The Boys Are Here!!!

I'm trying to post this from the hospital Internet access, but I will be able to do this announcement better justice from home, but it is a very odd, but short birth story. They came so fast and furious there was nothing anyone could do. But the boys are in the NICU and doing well. They were born at 31 weeks 5 days gestation on 5/29/2009. I will post their names and information (no comments on names unless you like them, LOL): Baby A: Thomas Michael III born at 2:09 AM Weight - 3 lbs, 15 1/2 oz Length - 18 inches Baby B: Liam Jonathan born at 2:20 AM Weight - 4 lbs, 1.4 oz Length - 17 1/4 inches long Just a word on their health, Thomas's breathing is doing well and he did not need any help in that area so far. I had two steroid shots from when I was admitted until before they were born, so I think that helped. Liam was intubated and given surfactant when he arrived in the NICU and is now on CPAP, although he can't stand having the tubes in his nose. Both are under t
