Point to Point - Winterthur 2011

We had a great day on Mother's Day and Phoebe had lots of fun taking pictures during our full day outing at Winterthur's annual Point to Point steeplechase horse races. It's a day to dress up, wear fancy hats, drink wine, eat cheese and crackers, see the fabulous sights, let your kids run wild in the open fields and eventually watch some horses race. Here's some great pics Phoebe took during the day.

I love this sweet picture she took of Liam!

One of the hat sellers in case you couldn't find one before the day:

The boys took pony rides with Daddy walking next to them. Here's Tommy who really enjoyed the ride a lot! We couldn't get a good photo of Liam on the pony.

Here we are walking around with the boys in their stroller. My chardonnay is in the orange cup and DH's ice water is in the blue. Must have plastic wine glasses when tailgating with wine.

Here's my sister-in-law, the kids Aunt Niki and her boyfriend Chris. Don't they look smashing!

I found a new hat that perfectly matched my dress. Bright pink is my favorite color, so this will be perfect for all summer, especially at the beach! I love this pic as you can see Tom with the stroller reflecting in my sunglasses along with all the tents.

Here's some pics of the races:

Here's a pic of our dear photographer of all the other photos, Phoebe. She had just had her face painted and a French braid put in the side of her hair.

She took a sweet pic of this gorgeous horse's face:

Look at this over-achiever jumper!

And to sum it all up, this is my favorite pic of me and the boys as they ran in the grass that day (yes, Niki is in the background too texting on her phone, LOL).

Love the hat! A friend of mine lives in Kentucky and has been posting pictures of her different hats for the last week or so. I could never pull them off, but I am thinking of a beach hat for our cruise later this month.

Bouncing Back From Depression

I've been pretty depressed lately. Monday I hit my all time low, which coincidentally was also my dad's birthday. Needless to say I'm sure I'm on his not favorite child list as I forgot to call him I was so depressed. This whole two mortgage thing with no contract in site is really frustrating. Especially when lots of other houses on our block are selling. Our house is really very lovely, just no pool. It has a really flat backyard perfect for putting a pool in though. Anyway, on Monday, Mom called to make sure I didn't forget to call Dad and tell me she read my blog over the weekend and sent me an email about it. Sorry, Mom, I still have yet to check my emails to see what you had to say. Mom told me I needed to bury a statue of St. Joseph in the yard to get it to sell quicker. Wish I knew that sooner. I was going to wait for her to mail me hers, but yesterday I got really mad at myself and wanted to do something to improve my situation, so I found the nea

Bad Dreams Go Away Magic Spell

Wow! Two posts in one day!!! I just had to blog about this. Indigo Girl had posted about her daughter having bad dreams and looking for advice. I had to post what we do in our house to keep away bad dreams. I have to admit it was one of my most brilliant mommy moments as I pulled this one out of my a$$ when I came up with it. When Phoebe was about 3 or 4 years old, she started complaining about nightmares. I knew it was half true and half stalling for bedtime. She has always been very into witches, wizards and spells (heck she was named after the character on Charmed and my due date was Halloween), so I came up with a magic spell on the spot to keep away bad dreams. I figured all it had to do was rhyme. I will share it with you all and feel free to try it if you need it: Bad dreams, bad dreams go away In Phoebe's dreams she must play She should dream of ice cream and cake Until the morning when she wakes She loves it! She still asks for it sometimes if she's had a ni

The Boys Are Here!!!

I'm trying to post this from the hospital Internet access, but I will be able to do this announcement better justice from home, but it is a very odd, but short birth story. They came so fast and furious there was nothing anyone could do. But the boys are in the NICU and doing well. They were born at 31 weeks 5 days gestation on 5/29/2009. I will post their names and information (no comments on names unless you like them, LOL): Baby A: Thomas Michael III born at 2:09 AM Weight - 3 lbs, 15 1/2 oz Length - 18 inches Baby B: Liam Jonathan born at 2:20 AM Weight - 4 lbs, 1.4 oz Length - 17 1/4 inches long Just a word on their health, Thomas's breathing is doing well and he did not need any help in that area so far. I had two steroid shots from when I was admitted until before they were born, so I think that helped. Liam was intubated and given surfactant when he arrived in the NICU and is now on CPAP, although he can't stand having the tubes in his nose. Both are under t
