PG - 18 Weeks 5 Days - Working from Home

I'm working from home today again, but this time it's because Phoebe's school is closed for a Teacher's Inservice. She's so happy to have an extra day off school. It's so cute to see how young the love of a weekend and long weekends starts. I just took a break from work to eat 2nd breakfast. I've already done two conference calls this morning and was starting to get hungry. I'm still a little congested from the cold, but I'm also getting to that point where the cough gets bad. I had when colds get like that. Hopefully lots of tea (herbal of course!) with lemon and honey will help the cough go away. And I don't mean to complain, but I have to admit my size is definitely increasing faster than when I was pregnant with Phoebe. I'm almost 19 weeks, but I feel like I'm currently about as big as I was with Phoebe when I was 6-7 months pregnant. The second trimester with twins is definitely not a comfortable time. By the end of the day

PG - 18 Weeks 3 Days - Still Sick

This cold is still kicking my butt. I was out sick from work both Monday and Tuesday. Today I'm working from home as I still feel horrible, but well enough to finally start looking at emails and call into some meetings. Leo left for NYC very early this morning. Work has been keeping him very busy. I feel that even though we've both been here, we really haven't seen each other. At least the babies have been OK. I can feel them moving. I can't wait until they are strong enough that Leo and Phoebe can feel them from the outside. I just can't wait for this cold to get better so I can get caught up on work and house stuff. I'm feeling so behind.

PG - 18 Weeks 1 Day - Ultrasound Update

We had a great ultrasound today! Both babies are measuring exactly the same estimated weight of 9 oz right now, so there doesn't seem to be any issue of one of the babies growing more than the other. They both had all their parts and everything measured nicely. Hearts were beating nicely - one at 150 and the other at 141. Oh and there was an additional part to both of them. We have two boys. I'll admit we were hoping for one of each, but this is great too. We were worried if Phoebe would be disappointed as she did want a sister, but when we told her this afternoon, she was very happy as she said brothers like to wrestle around like she does. As I also told Leo, Phoebe gets to retain her title of the sole Princess of the house. I'm still fighting off this cold, so I didn't go back to work this afternoon and I did take a nap this afternoon. I still don't feel much better. I hope I feel better tomorrow. The good news is that I haven't had any fever of an

PG - 17 Weeks 5 Days

Busy, busy, busy! Things are still really busy both work and home-wise and I'm coming down with a slight cold. At work, I'm hoping to spend some time planning today, which is desparately needed. Between meetings and that I'm ready to setup a deli number system at my cube for the stop-by questions, I've been too busy to look at the big picture of planning our work for the year. Home-wise - Phoebe's had her activities all week. She passed the ISI Gamma Level test at her ice skating class on Wednesday, so now she'll officially be at the Delta Level. This is good, because her private lessons on Thursdays with her coach have been focusing on her first competition program, which is based around Delta Level skills. The competition is April 4th and 5th, and Phoebe is starting to be OK with doing this. She loves to learn her ice skating skills, but she's nervous about performing. We're explaining to her that everyone else that will be there will be paying

PG - 17 Weeks 1 Day - Meme Galore

Hi all! I'm going to try to get better and post every day. I genuinely have something I could post every day, but getting the energy to do it is another matter. With all the stuff going on at work and trying to get stuff done at home, I'm so busy!!! Anyway, my online friend Martha at A Sense of Humor is Essential (is that a great name for a blog or what?) has given me several memes at one shot. I'm up to the challenge today to tackle these. I'm going to be boring and not tag anyone to keep these going. I'll use my pregnancy as a cop out, LOL. First the picture - 6th folder, 6th picture. Here's what I found: This picture is from February 2008 when we went to Disney. On the flight back, the airline staff did the cool thing of letting Phoebe into the cockpit to meet the pilot and sit in the co-pilot's seat. How cool was that???!!! I didn't think they did that stuff anymore since all the issues with airport security. That said, I don't mind p

PG - 16 Weeks 3 Days

Didn't mean to get some people excited thinking I'd be able to find out yesterday what the sex were of the babies we're having. We won't know until at least 2/23 when I have the 18-week Level II ultrasound. My OB doesn't do my ultrasounds, since I'm labeled "high-risk" with twins. I have my regular appointments with her and then I have appointments with MFM (Maternal Fetal Medicine) at the hospital, which is the building next to my OB's office. I had my regular OB appointment for my 4 month checkup yesterday and everything looks great. She did have me in a room with an old ultrasound machine (gosh, I'm spoiled!) to check the heartbeats of the babies. She said they do that in the beginning with twins to make sure they are seeing both heartbeats. She didn't tell us heartrate or anything. I don't think she calculated it. So all is well with the babies. They were head-to-head during her quick scan. She said they were already conspi

PG - 16 Weeks 1 Days - Nesting Weekend

We had a great productive weekend at home. Leo, Phoebe and I all focused on cleaning on Saturday. It took about 3 hours, but it really needed it. I haven't tried to clean since my scare in the beginning of January. I've done a little here and there, but I really love a clean house. I then turned my attention to fully getting caught up on laundry. I think there were about 6 - 8 loads of laundry that needed to be done. The last one was finished after church on Sunday. We relaxed a lot on Sunday, getting caught up on some TV that we recorded. We recorded the miniseries, The Last Templar, that was on the other week. It was really good. Leo made a pot of Chicken Tortilla Soup that was so yummy!!!! Sunday evening, I started tackling Phoebe's playroom as she had friends over all day and I wanted to let them have fun without me hanging around. I'd say about 75% of Phoebe's playroom is now in her bedroom closet in organized bins. I'm hoping to finish it dur

PG - 15 Weeks 4 Days - Busy with Work

Sorry I haven't been around much lately. I've been so swamped with work it's taken over my life. I think I've mentioned it before that my team at work has gone from managing two people to managing five, which started in the first week of January. My team also has a huge amount of work for this year to do. It's really good though, as it's a great opportunity for me, but as Leo travels for business sometimes lately, it's been rough. I could really use a little more time at the office or online with work until I get over this hump. Considering part of what I'm trying to preparing for is to have everyone up to speed by the end of March in case I end up on bedrest, I know this extra time at work is a short-time thing. Other than that, things are going well. I wasn't feeling the babies that much for the past week, but I think it was because they were moving up. Today they were very active and I could feel them, but it was higher on my stomach than
