June Goals Recap

Keep in mind, Mercury was in retrograde for most of the month of June.  When that is occurring, plans usually go awry and you need to be flexible and work on researching next steps, but don't sign any contracts or start new projects.  I think that was amply noticeable in how my goals went this month!

Family
  1. One date night per week with DH
  2. Find a YMCA class to do with Phoebe - doing yoga on Monday nights, but she's away now
  3. Work with the children to have less yelling in the house and more cooperation and listening
  4. Plan for summer schedule with kids at grandparents, doctor physicals, dentist appointments, fittings for uniforms, etc. -  Very close.  Finalizing rest of summer schedule today.
Home/Garden/Finances
  1. Have ice maker installed - still missing a piece.  Tom is ordering that
  2. Update the new annual budget file - Done!
  3. Menu plans for week/less takeout in the budget
Work
  1. Develop processes for managing our work
  2. Plan for projects and WRM needs
  3. Clean up inventory of processes we support
  4. Documentation gathering on processes in Livelink
1 - 4 I'm all working on as part of the transition to the new role.....

  1. Pursue other role opportunities in the organization - Hopefully I will find out today the final offer on the promotion.  It's leaving IT and it's working with Digital and Social Media at our company
Health and Fitness
  1. Drop 5 – 10 lbs by end of month - I'm down 3 lbs!
  2. Cardio 4-5x per week - Getting there.  It's been more like 2-3
  3. Yoga on Monday nights - Only got there once this month
  4. Try 4 new healthy recipes this month (one per week) - Definitely.  I've been having a good time in the kitchen

Personal
  1. Post on blog at least 4 times a week - I'm starting to get better at this again!
  2. Catch up on reading other blogs - I'm getting there.
  3. Have iPad screen fixed -  Done on the last day of the month!

Bouncing Back From Depression

I've been pretty depressed lately. Monday I hit my all time low, which coincidentally was also my dad's birthday. Needless to say I'm sure I'm on his not favorite child list as I forgot to call him I was so depressed. This whole two mortgage thing with no contract in site is really frustrating. Especially when lots of other houses on our block are selling. Our house is really very lovely, just no pool. It has a really flat backyard perfect for putting a pool in though. Anyway, on Monday, Mom called to make sure I didn't forget to call Dad and tell me she read my blog over the weekend and sent me an email about it. Sorry, Mom, I still have yet to check my emails to see what you had to say. Mom told me I needed to bury a statue of St. Joseph in the yard to get it to sell quicker. Wish I knew that sooner. I was going to wait for her to mail me hers, but yesterday I got really mad at myself and wanted to do something to improve my situation, so I found the nea...

Bad Dreams Go Away Magic Spell

Wow! Two posts in one day!!! I just had to blog about this. Indigo Girl had posted about her daughter having bad dreams and looking for advice. I had to post what we do in our house to keep away bad dreams. I have to admit it was one of my most brilliant mommy moments as I pulled this one out of my a$$ when I came up with it. When Phoebe was about 3 or 4 years old, she started complaining about nightmares. I knew it was half true and half stalling for bedtime. She has always been very into witches, wizards and spells (heck she was named after the character on Charmed and my due date was Halloween), so I came up with a magic spell on the spot to keep away bad dreams. I figured all it had to do was rhyme. I will share it with you all and feel free to try it if you need it: Bad dreams, bad dreams go away In Phoebe's dreams she must play She should dream of ice cream and cake Until the morning when she wakes She loves it! She still asks for it sometimes if she's had a ni...

The Boys Are Here!!!

I'm trying to post this from the hospital Internet access, but I will be able to do this announcement better justice from home, but it is a very odd, but short birth story. They came so fast and furious there was nothing anyone could do. But the boys are in the NICU and doing well. They were born at 31 weeks 5 days gestation on 5/29/2009. I will post their names and information (no comments on names unless you like them, LOL): Baby A: Thomas Michael III born at 2:09 AM Weight - 3 lbs, 15 1/2 oz Length - 18 inches Baby B: Liam Jonathan born at 2:20 AM Weight - 4 lbs, 1.4 oz Length - 17 1/4 inches long Just a word on their health, Thomas's breathing is doing well and he did not need any help in that area so far. I had two steroid shots from when I was admitted until before they were born, so I think that helped. Liam was intubated and given surfactant when he arrived in the NICU and is now on CPAP, although he can't stand having the tubes in his nose. Both are under t...
