Nova Nation

Early in the pregnancy when we found out we were having two boys, the one thing Leo bought were Villanova onsies. Leo got his MBA from Villanova and is really into cheering on their basketball team. It's so hard to get pics of the boys in something matching, because usually one of them will spit up all over their outfit. And I'm being kind when I say "spit up" usually Leo or I have to change too it's so bad. To say I do a lot of laundry around here these days is an understatement. But, without further ado, here are the boys in their Nova gear!

BTW, I'm not sure if you can tell from these pics, but it seems both the boys have my blue eyes. Which I find very funny since Phoebe has really dark brown eyes like her daddy. Glad to see I get to pass on some of my genetic material to my babes.

I'm so glad to hear they're off the monitors - what a relief! I well remember the spitting days - I was so happy to be done with them. We kept burp cloths over everything - the boppies, the cribs, the playmat; we eventually used an old comforter on the floor when they started playing more, and then just threw it away when they were done spitting!

I really do think we get blessed with happy babies when there are two (or more?) of them!
They are so precious in their Nova onesies!! We also love Penn and St.Joe's!!

They are adorable! The eye color genetics are a funny thing, aren't they?

They are so cute. They're not identical, right? Because they sure look it, don't you think?

Anyway, I sympathize with the spitting up. My daughter did it so terribly that I did 2 loads of laundry each day (her clothes, bibs, my clothes, sheets, and all the dishtowels I ended up using as spit up cloths). Then she stopped almost over night. It was really just over that fast (of course it took 6 months, but... still!) Some docs can recommend meds & stuff but it seemed like it was just a normal thing and my pede assured me she'd get over it which was good because I didn't want to have to give her anything.

Ok, just a long way to say that I sympathize. Though I can only imagine how hard it is with TWO!!! So nice to have a big sister helper. Congrats from a delurker.

Hubby works at Nova (public safety) and he is ALWAYS bringing home hats, t-shirts, footballs, etc.. I think I have more t-shirts than the basketball team!

Your boys look good in Nova Blue & White.

Bouncing Back From Depression

I've been pretty depressed lately. Monday I hit my all time low, which coincidentally was also my dad's birthday. Needless to say I'm sure I'm on his not favorite child list as I forgot to call him I was so depressed. This whole two mortgage thing with no contract in site is really frustrating. Especially when lots of other houses on our block are selling. Our house is really very lovely, just no pool. It has a really flat backyard perfect for putting a pool in though. Anyway, on Monday, Mom called to make sure I didn't forget to call Dad and tell me she read my blog over the weekend and sent me an email about it. Sorry, Mom, I still have yet to check my emails to see what you had to say. Mom told me I needed to bury a statue of St. Joseph in the yard to get it to sell quicker. Wish I knew that sooner. I was going to wait for her to mail me hers, but yesterday I got really mad at myself and wanted to do something to improve my situation, so I found the nea

Bad Dreams Go Away Magic Spell

Wow! Two posts in one day!!! I just had to blog about this. Indigo Girl had posted about her daughter having bad dreams and looking for advice. I had to post what we do in our house to keep away bad dreams. I have to admit it was one of my most brilliant mommy moments as I pulled this one out of my a$$ when I came up with it. When Phoebe was about 3 or 4 years old, she started complaining about nightmares. I knew it was half true and half stalling for bedtime. She has always been very into witches, wizards and spells (heck she was named after the character on Charmed and my due date was Halloween), so I came up with a magic spell on the spot to keep away bad dreams. I figured all it had to do was rhyme. I will share it with you all and feel free to try it if you need it: Bad dreams, bad dreams go away In Phoebe's dreams she must play She should dream of ice cream and cake Until the morning when she wakes She loves it! She still asks for it sometimes if she's had a ni

Phoebe's Fifth Grade School Picture

Here's Phoebe's 5th Grade School Picture.  I really like her in red or bright colors.  She's definitely becoming quite the little lady.
