Blissfully Happy

Holy cow!  I don't think I could be any more blissfully happy than I currently am.  Makes me think all our hard work (DH and I) is finally paying off.  As you saw in my goals update post, we've paid off our credit cards, which is amazing.  We were looking at our finances last night and just so happy to be where we are right now.  We're trying to figure out what our next financial goals will be.

Potty training is also going very very well.  I don't want to jinx it, but they just seem so much more ready.  Liam can be stubborn sometimes, but if I remind them that they can go back to playing when they are done and show them how happy it makes me and how proud I am of them, they seem to be very much on board with the whole thing.  Which was also great yesterday visiting the preschool they will be in full time starting the first week of September.  It hit me yesterday that in two years they will be in Kindergarten!  I mean when is this all happening???!!!  My babies are getting so big, but it makes them so much fun.  To see their facial expressions when they talk and their personalities really being all out there it's just fantastic.  Never thought it could be this good.

And Phoebe is the best too.  So smart and very together in her head.  She's going into 6th grade and she's taking PreAlgebra for math this year, which is the top math class they offer to 6th graders.  She's sounding so excited to go back to school, which is very different than years in the past.  She never really sounded like she liked school that much.  I wonder if now that she sees her hard work paying off, makes her excited to learn something new.  She was really funny last night at the mall with us and her friend.  I was hanging back listening to the two of them talk, as our daughter was going to buy something with her own money.  She was looking at new sunglasses since her old pair broke.  She said to her friend, "These are $12.50!" and her friend said, "Well, it is Hot Topic."  As in my daughter is being cheap with her own money saying she wouldn't spend that much on sunglasses and her friend is telling her it is a store that sells pricey stuff.  Cracked me up as they sounded like two old ladies.

Work has also had some strange interesting things going on.  I can only discuss them with one of the directors here at work and totally mum with everyone else.  I'm curious to see what will happen.  Basically my team may end up reporting into another area.  I'm OK with it and I think it's all great, although I know my director's boss, would probably not like it, but I don't think he'll get to have a say in it.  I think it would be better for me an my team though.

And last but not least, I'm going to the chiropractor this afternoon.  I'm very happy to get my lower back sorted out.  I also need to get back to exercising again, which I fell off the wagon again!!!  But I know one of these days when I get back on it will finally stick.  Saw a picture of Gwen Stefani with some amazing abs and all I could think of was, "I want that!"

I see lots of pictures of abs but that ship has sailed for me! Isn't being debt free amazing? I have a year left on my plan (boo!) but I can see the end of the tunnel. We have so much flexibility now and I love not having to worry. It's such a relief. But I'm also torn as to our next step as well. Squirreling away money is nice, but I feel like there is more to life.

So happy that you'be found yourself in such an amazing place. Here's to more happiness headed your way.
This post makes me so happy. YEAH!!

Bouncing Back From Depression

I've been pretty depressed lately. Monday I hit my all time low, which coincidentally was also my dad's birthday. Needless to say I'm sure I'm on his not favorite child list as I forgot to call him I was so depressed. This whole two mortgage thing with no contract in site is really frustrating. Especially when lots of other houses on our block are selling. Our house is really very lovely, just no pool. It has a really flat backyard perfect for putting a pool in though. Anyway, on Monday, Mom called to make sure I didn't forget to call Dad and tell me she read my blog over the weekend and sent me an email about it. Sorry, Mom, I still have yet to check my emails to see what you had to say. Mom told me I needed to bury a statue of St. Joseph in the yard to get it to sell quicker. Wish I knew that sooner. I was going to wait for her to mail me hers, but yesterday I got really mad at myself and wanted to do something to improve my situation, so I found the nea

Bad Dreams Go Away Magic Spell

Wow! Two posts in one day!!! I just had to blog about this. Indigo Girl had posted about her daughter having bad dreams and looking for advice. I had to post what we do in our house to keep away bad dreams. I have to admit it was one of my most brilliant mommy moments as I pulled this one out of my a$$ when I came up with it. When Phoebe was about 3 or 4 years old, she started complaining about nightmares. I knew it was half true and half stalling for bedtime. She has always been very into witches, wizards and spells (heck she was named after the character on Charmed and my due date was Halloween), so I came up with a magic spell on the spot to keep away bad dreams. I figured all it had to do was rhyme. I will share it with you all and feel free to try it if you need it: Bad dreams, bad dreams go away In Phoebe's dreams she must play She should dream of ice cream and cake Until the morning when she wakes She loves it! She still asks for it sometimes if she's had a ni

Phoebe's Fifth Grade School Picture

Here's Phoebe's 5th Grade School Picture.  I really like her in red or bright colors.  She's definitely becoming quite the little lady.
