Boys Last Synagis Shots and Busy at Work

The boys had their last Synagis shot of the RSV shot yesterday. Leo took them as I had to get ready for a meeting with Internal Audit at work. Very frustrating that they ended up rescheduling for Wednesday. Anyway, as part of the Synagis shot process they got weighed, so their latest weights are:

Tommy - 20 lbs 7 oz (9.27 kg)
Liam - 17 lbs 4 oz (7.82 kg)

I need to take some video of Liam rolling now that he's doing it more faithfully. He's not crawling yet, but he's managing to get around a bit more by rolling and wiggling. Tommy's been cutting the top two teeth lately, which has made him miserable. I've been giving him Motrin before he goes to bed at night to keep the pain from waking him up in the middle of the night. I don't give pain meds for all teething, but I've found that the top two and molars are the worst that wake them in the middle of the night with pain.

We also took the boys out to dinner on Saturday and it went great. We went to the new Cheesecake Factory that opened near us and they were fabulous to take twin babies too! On top of enjoying our beloved avocado egg rolls, they brought the boys their own plates of bread and sliced bananas when the waiter came with the bread for our table. They called it their "baby plates". You usually always give babies the bread from the bread plate anyway, but this way they had their own and they loved having bananas too. They got tired at the end, but they were stuffed with food and just wanted to go to sleep. I teased Tommy when I changed their diapers after supper as Tommy's jean button had come undone. I guess he needed to make room for all that food!

Work is getting really busy and that's going to keep me very occupied for the next few months. I'm hoping to make some good headway on getting my to-do lists shorter but I think the more I do, the more I'll end up adding. This morning I have to give a presentation on some UNIX system tips. I'm all ready and my handouts are copied. Now I just need to get in early and look at emails before I'm stuck in this meeting for 2 hours this morning. My presentation is 15 minutes, but I need to be supportive of the other presentations in the forum, so I'll stay for the whole two hours. I should make sure I have a fresh cup of coffee before I go in there!

I made my babies' 9-month appts for next week and can't wait to see what they'll weigh too!

your boys are so good! And I do love how you put the kg for me (well, I delude myself thinking that's just for me LOL).

Good luck with your presentation! And with staying awake - I always find after I'm done I couldn't care less about the others (bad!).

I was surprised to see what a difference there is in their weights at this point. Babies really are variable, aren't they.

I hope things went smoothly this morning. I'm headed back to work next week, and wondering how I'm going to get everything done.
Your boys sure are thriving! I bet you did wonderfully at work! Thank you for stopping by my blog.

Bouncing Back From Depression

I've been pretty depressed lately. Monday I hit my all time low, which coincidentally was also my dad's birthday. Needless to say I'm sure I'm on his not favorite child list as I forgot to call him I was so depressed. This whole two mortgage thing with no contract in site is really frustrating. Especially when lots of other houses on our block are selling. Our house is really very lovely, just no pool. It has a really flat backyard perfect for putting a pool in though. Anyway, on Monday, Mom called to make sure I didn't forget to call Dad and tell me she read my blog over the weekend and sent me an email about it. Sorry, Mom, I still have yet to check my emails to see what you had to say. Mom told me I needed to bury a statue of St. Joseph in the yard to get it to sell quicker. Wish I knew that sooner. I was going to wait for her to mail me hers, but yesterday I got really mad at myself and wanted to do something to improve my situation, so I found the nea...

Bad Dreams Go Away Magic Spell

Wow! Two posts in one day!!! I just had to blog about this. Indigo Girl had posted about her daughter having bad dreams and looking for advice. I had to post what we do in our house to keep away bad dreams. I have to admit it was one of my most brilliant mommy moments as I pulled this one out of my a$$ when I came up with it. When Phoebe was about 3 or 4 years old, she started complaining about nightmares. I knew it was half true and half stalling for bedtime. She has always been very into witches, wizards and spells (heck she was named after the character on Charmed and my due date was Halloween), so I came up with a magic spell on the spot to keep away bad dreams. I figured all it had to do was rhyme. I will share it with you all and feel free to try it if you need it: Bad dreams, bad dreams go away In Phoebe's dreams she must play She should dream of ice cream and cake Until the morning when she wakes She loves it! She still asks for it sometimes if she's had a ni...

The Boys Are Here!!!

I'm trying to post this from the hospital Internet access, but I will be able to do this announcement better justice from home, but it is a very odd, but short birth story. They came so fast and furious there was nothing anyone could do. But the boys are in the NICU and doing well. They were born at 31 weeks 5 days gestation on 5/29/2009. I will post their names and information (no comments on names unless you like them, LOL): Baby A: Thomas Michael III born at 2:09 AM Weight - 3 lbs, 15 1/2 oz Length - 18 inches Baby B: Liam Jonathan born at 2:20 AM Weight - 4 lbs, 1.4 oz Length - 17 1/4 inches long Just a word on their health, Thomas's breathing is doing well and he did not need any help in that area so far. I had two steroid shots from when I was admitted until before they were born, so I think that helped. Liam was intubated and given surfactant when he arrived in the NICU and is now on CPAP, although he can't stand having the tubes in his nose. Both are under t...
