Need Twin Stroller Advice

OK, my twin moms out there, I need twin stroller advice. I'm about to purchase one other than our snap and go for the infant carriers and I'm thinking between the Maclaren Twin Triumph and the Combi Twin stroller. Anyone have any advice or experience to share about their twin stroller? What do you like or not like?

Sorry...no experience with either one...we have the City Mini Double Jogger. Just make sure it's light and it easy to fold...that will make you happy. I have heard good things about both strollers though...good luck!

No idea - why are you getting a new one though? Can't they fit into the existing pram any more?

we have the Graco DuoRider which i love but it is too wide

We have the Graco Twin IPO Navarro Stroller and really like it. We haven't been out a lot with it, but it has a lot of features. Surprisingly, it fits through doors, which was my concern.

The reason I need a new stroller is that the snap and go is for use with their infant carriers. Soon they will be outgrowing them, so I've been planning to get the regular stroller and the regular car seats at the same time. But now that the weather is getting nicer, I'd like to take them for their walks with them being able to look out on the world more than stare at Mommy while she's outside, LOL!

And Leigh, I may be slender, but I'm really really strong. I can carry my 65 lb 9-year-old up the stairs to bed when she's fallen asleep on the couch and I can carry 37 lbs of squirmy baby around the house.

Hi Heather,

I don't know the first thing about strollers, let alone strollers for two. But I remembered Jayme over at Tater Twins wrote about it a while back. Her boys are very close in age to yours. I love our snap and go, but we need to find a new one too. Our little guys tries to sit up and look out now.

I'm not thrilled with our stroller but it does the job. We have the Kolcraft Contours Options Duo and I like that the seats are adjustable and it is a tandem. I could never do a side by side stroller, they seem to big and door ways and side walk space are always an issue.

Here's my checklist for our next stroller
1. One step, easy folding/opening
2. Preferably light weight
3. Tandem
4. Easy, one handed steering

I was anti-stroller till I discovered I was having twins. I hate, absolutely despise, pushing the stroller. I would rather carry them both. I'm forever excusing myself through crowds and bumping into things, plus people are instantly attracted to the stroller like moths to a light!

We have a Maclaren Twin Techno (similar to the one you mention) and love it. Fits through doorways, and no one fights over being in the "Front" or "Back." Fairly light and folds easily.

We also have a Graco DuoGlider - we bought it to go with their carseats - but the thing is a BUS so we gave it to the daycare for the occasional need there.

Oooh! I relish the chance to tell anybody about how much in love I am with our BOB Revolution Duallie. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it. One of my girlfriends had twins a few years ago, and cycled through several strollers before finding the BOB and she told me when I was pregnant that she wishes she'd just started with that stroller from the getgo.

We had a snap-n-go but converted to the BOB when the kiddos were 5 months old. They love it.

Why I love it:
1 - super easy to fold, one handed if need be
2- easy to steer, has a front swivel wheel and turns on a dime
3 - it's side by side, which was important to me, yet I've NEVER found a doorway it couldn't fit through. Some retails stores (like the GAP) I've had challenges with, but that is very, very rare.
4 - if you are a jogger or walker, it is ESSENTIAL. You will just have to trust me on that.
5 - it carries up to 100 pounds, so can be used until you are completely out of a stroller.

I cannot say enough good things about this stroller. It was pricey, but is truly the only stroller we will ever need. If I had to pick one baby item I could not live without, it would be my BOB.

I LOVE my BOB double stroller. I wish I had never bought the others. I use it for everything... on jogs, walks, in and out of stores. Everywhere. I highly recommend it!

I obviously have no advice, but will be interested to hear what brand you go with. I'm stroller shopping, too-I like the snap and go, but now that the weather is nice, I'd like to be able to walk down dirt paths, the beach, etc, and the snap and go tires are too small to handle it. I'm looking at the Phil and Ted's strollers. They have a double kit (free right now), but that means one kid would have to ride in the back. I plan to go play with a bunch in the store and see how easily they fold up. That, plus weight, are probably going to be my deciding factors. It's so hard to choose!

We have a Combi Twin sport stroller that's side by side, for our boys who are 3.5, 2 & 6 months. It's good for walks around the neighborhood and sitting outside, but I don't love it for taking it to stores or anything (I actually prefer to go sans kids to stores, LOL - but if they have to go, I use the carts, my sling and/or let them walk). My almost 4 year old can still sit in it though, so it does have longevity. The seats recline & the umbrellas function independently, and the baskets are small. But it's light and handles well, even while walking a dog w/ a leash. I haven't had a problem getting through doorways, and it's a decent price if you don't want to spend a lot.

Not a twin mom but I have kids close in age and I love the Phil and Teds sport, but I hear there's a newer version out than the one I got 3 years ago thats even better. Its not a side by side but a top on bottom and I love it!! So user friendly!!

I'm late to the party, but I thought I would throw in my opinion in case anyone comes to this post looking for advice later! : ) I have the Combi Twin Sport, and I love it. It's super lightweight, easy to use and maneuver, and it was a good price for a double stroller. I don't have a problem fitting it through standard doorways. It's great for day-to-day use.

The Boys Are Here!!!

I'm trying to post this from the hospital Internet access, but I will be able to do this announcement better justice from home, but it is a very odd, but short birth story. They came so fast and furious there was nothing anyone could do. But the boys are in the NICU and doing well. They were born at 31 weeks 5 days gestation on 5/29/2009. I will post their names and information (no comments on names unless you like them, LOL): Baby A: Thomas Michael III born at 2:09 AM Weight - 3 lbs, 15 1/2 oz Length - 18 inches Baby B: Liam Jonathan born at 2:20 AM Weight - 4 lbs, 1.4 oz Length - 17 1/4 inches long Just a word on their health, Thomas's breathing is doing well and he did not need any help in that area so far. I had two steroid shots from when I was admitted until before they were born, so I think that helped. Liam was intubated and given surfactant when he arrived in the NICU and is now on CPAP, although he can't stand having the tubes in his nose. Both are under t...

Bad Dreams Go Away Magic Spell

Wow! Two posts in one day!!! I just had to blog about this. Indigo Girl had posted about her daughter having bad dreams and looking for advice. I had to post what we do in our house to keep away bad dreams. I have to admit it was one of my most brilliant mommy moments as I pulled this one out of my a$$ when I came up with it. When Phoebe was about 3 or 4 years old, she started complaining about nightmares. I knew it was half true and half stalling for bedtime. She has always been very into witches, wizards and spells (heck she was named after the character on Charmed and my due date was Halloween), so I came up with a magic spell on the spot to keep away bad dreams.
