Romance Me Through My Stomach

I'm sure I've mentioned before, but DH is an amazing cook. When we were dating he used to woo me by making me fabulous dinners. He still does it after 16 years of marriage, making something special when it's just the two of us. Last night he made me poached salmon over a bed of an Asian-inspired cole slaw made with cabbage, bean sprouts, onions, sunflower seeds, toasted sesame oil, rice wine vinegar and I don't know what else. It was really delicious. Here's DH in the kitchen, just where I like him!


Here's our fabulous dinner! I know it's not the most exciting colors, but it was out of this world!

I tell him he can keep feeding me fabulous food forever! I'd love to share the recipe, but he does everything in his head and barely tells me what's in it. I think he forgets what he did.

Your DH cooks like I do - D will say, "that was delicious" and I can't remember what I put in or the quantities... (it's worse now, post-babies)

Yum, that sounds wonderful! We don't cook a whole lot in our house, and if J cooks, it is probably Hamburger Helper! : )

The Boys Are Here!!!

I'm trying to post this from the hospital Internet access, but I will be able to do this announcement better justice from home, but it is a very odd, but short birth story. They came so fast and furious there was nothing anyone could do. But the boys are in the NICU and doing well. They were born at 31 weeks 5 days gestation on 5/29/2009. I will post their names and information (no comments on names unless you like them, LOL): Baby A: Thomas Michael III born at 2:09 AM Weight - 3 lbs, 15 1/2 oz Length - 18 inches Baby B: Liam Jonathan born at 2:20 AM Weight - 4 lbs, 1.4 oz Length - 17 1/4 inches long Just a word on their health, Thomas's breathing is doing well and he did not need any help in that area so far. I had two steroid shots from when I was admitted until before they were born, so I think that helped. IVF#2 - It Worked!!!!

OK all my Internet bloggy friends!!!! I'm pregnant with the best initial beta I've ever had!!! Could that mean multiples? We'll find out over the next week or two for sure. My initial beta was 660! I can't believe it! I'm so excited I want to cry. I was so nervous. I didn't want to test before I went there because of all the hcg boosts I had. And I was really starting to doubt if it would really work out or if I was going to have a major disappointment today. I go back on Thursday for a repeat beta and we'll see if we're doubling or better. Leo made a prediction last night of twins. I wonder if he's right. Of course we just want at least one healthy baby, but healthy boy/girl twins would be like winning the lottery. Of course we'll want to win the lottery to support them, but I'm like Scarlett O'Hara in that perspective - "I'll think about that tomorrow!"
